What Size Oversized T-Shirt Should You Buy? A Pakistan Fit Guide
Share
Oversized sizing is the one thing that trips people up when they buy streetwear online in Pakistan. A shirt labelled "L" in an oversized cut does not sit anything like an L from a regular-fit brand, and ordering by habit is the fastest way to end up with something that looks baggy in the wrong places. This guide walks through how to pick between S, M, L and XL at Dripzy so the tee you get is the one you pictured.
Why an oversized L is not a regular L
A regular-fit t-shirt is cut to follow the shoulder line. The seam sits on the edge of your shoulder, the body tapers slightly through the waist, and the sleeve stops mid-bicep. An oversized tee is built the opposite way: the shoulder seam is dropped down the arm, the body is boxy rather than tapered, and the sleeve sits wider and shorter in proportion.
That means the extra room is deliberate and it is already built into every size. You do not need to jump two sizes up to get the oversized look - the cut is doing that work for you. All Dripzy tees, hoodies and sweatshirts are made in this same relaxed, drop-shoulder shape and sold as unisex in S, M, L and XL.
The most reliable way to pick your size
Forget what the label on your current shirts says. Brands in Pakistan and abroad label inconsistently, so the number is close to meaningless across brands. Instead, do this:
- Find a t-shirt you already own whose fit you genuinely like.
- Lay it flat on a bed or table, smooth out the wrinkles, and measure it pit to pit across the chest, then from the base of the collar straight down to the hem.
- Write both numbers down. That is your target fit, not a guess.
Those two numbers tell you far more than your usual size letter. If you want the finished tee to read clearly oversized, you are looking for something wider across the chest and a little longer in the body than your reference shirt. If you want it relaxed but not dramatic, you want it close to your reference.
If you are not sure how that translates to a specific piece, message us on WhatsApp at +92 339 0123450 between 11am and 8pm, Monday to Saturday, with your measurements and the product you are looking at. It takes a minute and it is a lot cheaper than guessing.
How S, M, L and XL are meant to be worn
Because the cut is already boxy, think of the four sizes as four different degrees of drape rather than four body types. S and M give you a cleaner oversized look where the shoulder drop is visible but the body still has some shape. L and XL push further into the wide, heavy streetwear silhouette where the hem sits lower and the sleeve comes closer to the elbow.
Someone who normally wears a regular-fit M and wants a moderate oversized look will usually be happiest in M here. The same person chasing a much bigger, fully draped fit would go to L. Going up two sizes is rarely the right call - past a point the shoulder seam falls so far down the arm that the shirt stops looking intentional.
Does the fabric change the fit?
Yes, a little, and it is worth knowing which is which before you order.
Our standard printed graphic tees (PKR 1,750-1,850) and plain basics (PKR 1,200) are cut from premium cotton that hangs softly and moves with you. Our garment-dyed washed tees (PKR 1,550 for plain washed basics, PKR 2,250 for washed graphics) are heavier and already pre-washed, so they drape with more weight and sit a little more structured on the shoulder. If you like a tee that holds its shape rather than clinging, the washed range is the one to look at. You can see both side by side in t-shirts, and the plain range lives in essentials.
Hoodies, sweatshirts and trousers size differently again
Our fleece pieces are built on 300 GSM fabric, which is substantially heavier than a t-shirt. That weight means a hoodie in your tee size will feel roomier than the tee does, because there is simply more material holding the shape. Most people take the same letter size across tees and fleece and are happy - but if you plan to layer a tee or a shirt underneath all winter, going one up on the hoodie is a reasonable call. Oversized hoodies start at PKR 1,849 for the plain Essentials range and run to PKR 2,499 for graphic prints, with sweatshirts from PKR 1,649.
Our Classic Relaxed Trousers (PKR 1,900) have an elasticated drawstring waist, which gives you a bit of adjustment at the top - but the wide straight leg does not change, so pick on waist comfort rather than trying to control the leg width.
What to do if you are between sizes
If your measurements land between two of our sizes, the honest answer depends on what you want the shirt to do. Going down gives you a tidier, more wearable everyday fit that layers better under a jacket or overshirt. Going up gives you the fuller streetwear drape that looks better worn on its own with wide-leg trousers. Neither is wrong.
One practical note: cotton can shrink slightly on its first hot wash. Washing cold and inside out, and drying in the shade rather than in direct sun, keeps the fit you paid for. We wrote a full washing guide if you want the detail.
